NEDEG wishes to thank Dutch Springs for their many years of service to the community |
The North East Diving Equipment Group (NEDEG) is a group of individuals dedicated to preserving, promoting and diving a variety of underwater gear from all around the world. These include historical gear such as vintage and modern Navy diving helmets, modern lightweight commercial diving helmets, double hose regulators, and other open circuit gear. Learn about the history of diving and the equipment that evolved from the past. We give a chance for sport scuba divers to actually dive some of the gear you would normally only see on television or old movies!
Join NEDEG on one of the "Helmet" Rallies or attend one of the Diving Presentations and learn more about the history of diving, and how you can get to dive with the gear! NEDEG events have been attended by divers from around the world! |
Friday, May 27 - Sunday May 29, 2022 Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, NEDEG will be holding limited-participation surface supplied diving and hardhat demonstrations at this time. Enhanced equipment cleaning protocols will be used between gear uses. Those who wish to participate may do so in several ways: 1. You may watch the tending of the divers while they prepare for their dives. 2. You may help with the tending of the divers, both in the pre-dive and post-dive dressing, and umbilical handling during the dive. 3. If you have your own surface supplied dive gear or have made special arrangements to use such gear, you may dive that gear on a space available basis. 4. Scuba diving with your own gear: You may safely interact with helmet divers when they are fully underwater. Photograpy and video interactions are also permitted when underwater.
In all cases, if you wish participate in activities on our dive dock, you will be asked to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or immunity and will be asked to wear a mask covering nose and mouth when not actually diving or enclosed in the dive gear. This is for everyone's safety and protection.
